Private practice in Oslo from 1982 conducting civil and criminal cases before the Norwegian courts and the European Court of Human Rights.
Member of Nordem Stand-by force for international observers. Observed court cases in Ethiopia, Tanzania and Turkey.
Earlier worked as assistant judge, scientific researcher and adviser at Ministry of Social Affaires.
Awarded prizes of honour by the Oslo branch of the Norwegian Bar Association and Espelands foundation for his work with human rights
Written the book "Foreseeability and technological development as legal arguments" and different articles and reports on different topics especially human rights
